On Monday morning, lawyers for Bush and Gore laid out their oral arguments on Florida's disputed ballot recount before the US Supreme Court justices, who appeared divided in the case that could finally decide who becomes the next president of the United States. Last Monday, the justices set aside a previous Florida Supreme Court decision that allowed an earlier round of recounts. On Saturday, the justices voted 5-4 to stop the new Florida recount and grant quick review to Bush's appeal. |
