HK to Stage Inter-Cities Special Olympics

Some 1,600 mentally handicapped athletes from Asia will compete at the 25th Hong Kong Special Olympics Inter-Cities Invitation Games to be held on December 15 to 16.

This was announced by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, one of the joint organizers, on Tuesday.

The two-day games will feature competitions in basketball individual skills, table tennis and track and field.

Apart from host Hong Kong, China, nine teams from China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and Macao, China, will take part in the invitational games.
