China's Railway Earnings Up in November

The Ministry of Railways said Tuesday, December 12, that the sector raked in an average 296 million yuan a day in November, up 8.2 percent from the same period last year.

Of the total, earnings from train tickets accounted for 93 million yuan, while cargo transport contributed 159 million yuan.

China's railways carried 2.39 million passengers daily in November, down 2 percent from the same period last year. The daily cargo transport volume stood at 78,072 carriages, up 3.2 percent. According to the ministry, container transport volume reached 3.26 million tons in November.
