COSCO to Develop Three Ocean shipping Networks

China Container Transport Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of China Ocean Shipping Corporation (C0SCO), is to develop three global networks to enhance its competitiveness in the world market. according to sources with the China Container Transport Co. Ltd, Global Annual Conference 2000 held Tuesday, December 12, in Shanghai.

In terms of a global shipping lines network, the corporation will introduce 7 new ships with 5,250 standard base boxes next year to improve its occupancy of shipping space and coverage rate of American and European shipping lines.

With the development of the lines between Southeast Asia and Europe and America as its priority, China Container Transport Co. Ltd, will develop more short-distance lines to perfect its global shipping network.

In addition, the company will further integrate its branches home and abroad to form a united global marketing network.

The company will also establish a global information network, which may bring more convenience to shipping reservations, shipping bills transmission and account settlements.
