Turkey to Give Palestinians US$3 Million in Aid

Turkey has decided to extend US$3 million in aid to the Palestinians, the Anatolia News Agency reported on Tuesday, December 12.

The agency said that the aid was aimed at helping the Palestinians meet their urgent needs, quoting a Foreign Ministry statement released on Monday.

One million dollars of the aid will be handed over to the Palestinians immediately, the report said, adding that Turkey had already sent half a million dollars of cash, medical equipment and medicine to the Palestinians last month.

Meanwhile, 47 Palestinians injured in the clashes with Israeli troops, are currently receiving medical treatment in Ankara.

The bloody clashes between Israeli troops and the Palestinians over the past 10 weeks have killed more than 300 people and wounded thousands of others, mostly Palestinians.
