China to Hold Children's Clothing Designing Contest

A news conference was lately called by the Women and Children's Work Commission of the State Council and All-China Women's Federation on holding the First Chinese Children's Clothing Designing Contest in Beijing.

Sources say the First Chinese Children's Clothing Designing Contest will be on at a time when the Asia-Pacific Region 2001 Ministerial Consultation Meeting is to be held in representing China's achievements made to that end following the "1990s Development Program of Chinese Children" promulgated.

It is reported that Chen Muhua, Peng Peiyun will serve as honorary chairmen, and Gu Xiulian and Liu Hairong will act as president and director of the Organization Committee respectively.
