Inner Mongolia Witnesses Five-Year Foreign Trade Boom

The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region saw a 13-percent increase in its annual import and export over the past five years, statistics show.

The gross volume topped US$7.6 billion, 54 percent more than the preceding five-year period.

A total of 480 overseas-funded enterprises were approved in the past five years and US$400 million of overseas funds were used, up five percent and 62 percent, respectively, from the previous 5-year period.

According to officials, overseas investors have shifted their focus on high-tech projects from the raw materials processing sector.
