China, Vietnam Reach Agreement on Air Routes, Airspace Management in South China Sea
China and Vietnam recently reached an agreement on air routes structure and airspace management in the South China Sea, according to the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China GACAC.
Civil aviation delegations from both countries reached the deal at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada, on December 7, putting an end to the 25 year pending issue between the two countries.
ICAO Chairman Assad Kotaite made a statement to confirm and congratulate the two countries on the matter.
The agreement will benefit air passengers and airliners and also promote the development of aviation transportation in the Asia-Pacific region, said sources from the GACAC.
