China's Industrial Output Surges

Industrial production in China grew by 11.5 percent over the first eleven months of the year, official figures showed.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Monday, December 11, that the industrial value added totaled 2,132.7 billion yuan for the period.

In November, industrial value added was 217.1 billion yuan, 10.6 percent more than in the same month of last year.

Exports of industrial products maintained strong momentum in November, growing by 20.9 percent over the previous year to 129 billion yuan, said NBS. The total value of industrial exports for January-November was 26.1 percent more than in the corresponding period last year.

Over the first eleven months of the year, the country's industrial enterprises sold 97.42 percent of their finished products, improving by 0.12 percentage points over the same period last year.
