Forbidden City, Great Wall: 2008 Olympic Venues Promised

Liu Qi, mayor of Beijing and chairman of Beijing Olympic Bid Committee, told visiting Amsterdam Vice Mayor Pauline Krikke that Beijing will offer the best conditions to most happily play host to the 2008 Olympics if Beijing succeed in its 2008 Olympic bid.

Liu said that there are many Olympic single events officers coming on a visit in Beijing. They have all expressed their satisfaction with Beijing's designing plans and arrangement of Olympic venues and gyms construction. Beijing is benefited by many original suggestions and unique ideas on contests such as Iron Man Triathlon to be held around Beijing's Forbidden City and some events on the Great Wall to make the 2008 Olympics the most interesting events in the history of Olympics.

Liu also said that to host the2008 Olympics is of utmost importance to the Chinese people especially Beijing's residents. To make Beijing's 2008 Olympic bid and hosting of the 2008 Olympics a complete success, Beijing will do all it can as much more experienced it has become than ever before since its last Olympic bid in 1993.
