Hong Kong to Host 35th Products ExpoThe 35th Hong Kong Products Expo will be held in Hong Kong from December 16, 2000 to January 8, 2001, announced the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA) Thursday, December 7.Addressing a press conference, held in Hong Kong, CMA President Chan Wing Kee said various programs will be staged at the 24-day event to echo the theme of "the Expo of Fun and Excitement." Three new pavilions will be set up this year, namely the Eco Gallery, the Chinese Medicines Pavilion and the Today & Yesterday Products Gallery, in addition to the traditional All-in-One Pavilion, the Technology Pavilion and the Macao Products Gallery, he said. The Eco Gallery will show hi-tech environmental-friendly products and a precious showcase of more than 100 made-in-Hong Kong products contributed by over 20 local enterprises will be displayed in the Today & Yesterday Products Gallery, Chan said. The Chinese Medicine Pavilion will be set up to support the government's advocacy to develop Hong Kong into an international Chinese medicine hub, he added. CMA Vice-President and Convenor of the 35th Expo's Executive Committee Jose Yu revealed that the final contest of the annual " Miss Exhibition Pageant" will be held on January 6, 2001.
