China Speeds up Sports Legal Construction

Sources from the 6th Physical Culture Science Conference closed in Wuhan report that China's sports legal system has been at a time of accelerated construction.

Almost 600 sports laws have been enacted by the NPC, the State Council, and the State Physical Culture and Sports Commission since 1949. Since the 3rd Plenary Session of the CPC 11th Central Committee 240 local laws have been promulgated.

Experts say that China has laid equal stress on legislation and enactment of sports laws at the central and local level. Sports laws have been well enforced since Physical Culture Laws issued in 1995. Latest statistics show that there are as many as 24 local sports administrative departments made by legal institutions as qualifiers to enforce the Sports Laws at various local levels in China.
