China to Set up Largest Cattle Farm in NE Region
As West Europe is being panicking over the "mad cow" plague, northeast China started setting up the largest cattle farm in the region.
The ecological cattle farm began its construction early this month in Kangping County in northeast China's Liaoning Province.
The farm is jointly funded by Shenyang Dafeng Grass Co. Ltd. and International Green Food Co. Ltd.
Covering an area of 2.6 million square meters, the farm will raise cattle using new biological technologies like embryonic implantation and produce 20,000 cattle annually. The construction of the farm will be completed in 2002.
