Donation Ceremony Helping Orphans

The China Charity Federation (CCF) held a donation ceremony Wednesday to help orphans.

David Allen from the United Kingdom donated 300,000 yuan to set up the "David Allen Fund for Chinese Orphans" in 1996. The CCF has undertaken to use the fund to help orphans.

One of the orphans CCF has helped is Gao Zhenhua, an orphan from China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, who won an award at a national children's violin contest in 1995 and was enrolled by the regional art college.

Hu Yizhou, a mentally retarded youth who has a talent for music, also received help.

Under the sponsorship of the fund, Hu and other child musicians have given some 20 performances to raise money to help more mentally retarded people and orphans begin a new life.
