Beijing Mayor Meets Amsterdam Delegation

Mayor Liu Qi told Pauline Krikke, visiting deputy mayor of Amsterdam, the
Netherlands
, in Beijing December 6 that the Chinese capital can learn from the Dutch capital in the development of the hi-tech industry.
Liu said Beijing and Amsterdam share many similarities as the two capital cities both endeavor to develop their hi-tech industry 's. He said Beijing aims to become a micro-electronics industry center in northern China and therefore wishes to learn from the experiences of Amsterdam.
Heading an Amsterdam delegation, Krikke said Amsterdam's hi- tech industrial park was the first to be developed in Europe. She said the two cities can cooperate more in the IT sector and the computer software industry.
