ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting to Be Held in Laos Next Week

Ministers from the 10 ASEAN and 15 EU member countries and the European Commission will gather in Vientiane, Laos, on December 11 and 12 for the 13th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting, the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement Wednesday, December 6.

Singapore Minister of Foreign Affairs S. Jayakumar will lead the Singapore delegation to the meeting which will be preceded by a Senior Officials' Meeting on December 8 and 9, the statement said.

It said the meeting aims to further strengthen the links between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Europe and the ministers will discuss regional and global political-security issues, exchange views on the regional and international economic situation and review ASEAN-EU cooperation and the future of ASEAN-EU relations.
