Israeli Army Captures Eight Palestinians

Israeli army detained eight Palestinians near the West Bank city of Ramallah overnight, Israel's Army Radio reported on Wednesday, December 6.

The arrests were carried out by an Israeli undercover unit, and the suspects had large quantities of explosives and weapons in their possession, the report said.

The army suspected that the eight Palestinians were preparing to launch a "terrorist" attack against Israeli targets, it added.

It was not the first time that Israeli army sneaked into the Palestinian territories to seize Palestinians.

In a separate development, Israeli police arrested at least four Jewish settlers on Wednesday after policemen forcefully broke up a demonstration by settlers on the road between Kfar Darom settlement and the Palestinian self-rule Gaza Strip.

This was the third day the settlers blocked the traffic on the highway and barred the Palestinians from using it.

On Monday, the convoy of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat was also obstructed by the settlers.
