Tsinghua Tongfang Devoted to Online EducationTsinghua Tongfang , a listed company of Tsinghua University, announced Tuesday that it would issue another 20 million shares of A stock to raise one billion yuan for its marching into the Internet field with the stress laid on the online education.A person in charge of the company said to let the company set its foot into the Internet field, it needs to bring the initiative of the university and its listed companies into full play. The one billion yuan investment will be mainly dedicated to the construction of online education, digital community and e-commerce, and the online education will capture 800 million yuan from it. Taking information technology and incubation of research results as two pillar industries, the company has developed a series of core technologies of its own intellectual property rights. They consist of high-quality server, broadband transmission, network-supporting software, data inputting and Internet security. Putting all these technologies together it can better meet the increasing needs of online education, construction of intelligence and e-commerce. So far, an agreement has been signed between Tsinghua Tongfang and Ministry of Education, Ministry of Personnel, Ministry of Labor and Social Security and Tsinghua University to provide Internet platform for these ministries to develop online education and vocational training.
