Beijing ISDN Users over 100,000

The subscribers of ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) in Beijing surpassed 100,000 by November 24, said Beijing Telecom, an arm of China Telecom.

In October alone, the installation of ISDN or conversion of traditional telephone lines reached average 256 per day, the company said.

The current monthly basic charge for ISDN services in Beijing is 32.4 yuan (US$3.72).

ISDN services, launched in 1998 in Beijing, has received warm response. Related sources said the number of ISDN users in Beijing will reach 6.3 million in 2004, representing a growth of 84 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
