HK to Stage Soccer International
World ranked 12th Paraguay is to face host Hong Kong SAR's League XI in the 2001 Carlsberg Cup tournament in Hong Kong, according to a draw held Tuesday, Decemer 5.
Powerhouse Norway, ranked 14th in the world, will take on Asia's ace South Korea on January 24 in another semi-final.
It is the only annual international soccer tournament, originated in 1986, held in the Hong Kong SAR and is arguably the most renowned annual international football event in Asia, said Hong Kong Football Association, the tournament organizer.
The winners of the two semi-finals will vie for the title on January 27.
