IEEE Holds Conference in TianjinThe Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Asia Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems was staged Monday in Tianjin in north China.
About 200 engineers and professors from a dozen countries and regions, including the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Hong Kong, participated in the conference.
This is the first time that China has hosted an international conference sponsored by the IEEE.
Wu Yongshi, chairman of the conference and ex-president of Tianjin University, said that development in the fields of circuits and systems as part of information technology has an enormous impact on scientific progress and economic growth in the world.
The participating overseas scholars also include Professor Ernest S. Kuh, a member of the US National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Engineering, Professor Yoji Kajitani from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Bing Sheu, chair of the IEEE institute of circuits and systems.
The biennial conference mainly focuses on discussions on mobile communications, satellite communications, computer networks, and optical communications. Special focus will be placed on large-scale integrated circuits and neural networks.
