Power Grid Built in Central Tibet

A 110-kilovolt power transmission project in the cental part of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region was completed on Saturday, December 3.

The 149 kilometer-long project links the power grid of Lhasa and that of Xigaze. The completion of the project will ease power shortages in Lhasa City, Shannan and Xigaze prefectures and more than 20 counties.

The Yanghu to Gyangze Project was launched this April, and was extremely difficult to build as it winds through an area with an average of 4,500 kilometers above sea level.
