Qinshan Nuclear Power Station Operating Smoothly

The Qinshan Nuclear Power Station in east China's Zhejiang Province has reached its annual power generating target and is under the fifth routine overhaul.

Qinshan, the first nuclear power station designed by China, has generated more than 2 billion kwh of electricity this year without threatening the surrounding environment.

Meanwhile, the construction of the two 600,000-kilowatt nuclear power stations and two 700,000-kilowatt stations in Qinshan are underway, and are expected to be operational by 2002 and 2003, respectively.
