Cuba to Receive 1.85 Million Tourists in 2000

Cuba is expected to receive 1.85 million tourists by the end of 2000, a 10 percent growth compared with last year, Tourism Minister Ibrahim Ferradaz said on Saturday, December 2.

Canada, Germany, Italy and Spain are at the top of the list of tourist flows to the Caribbean country, according to the minister.

Tourism is the main industry of the country, contributing half of its foreign exchange revenue.

The industry's target is to attract some two million tourists in 2001, the minister said.
