Public Security, Judicial Organs Urged to Guarantee Social Stability

Public security and judicial departments are being urged to spare no efforts in maintaining social stability.

Head of the China Decipline Inspection Commission Wei Jianxing, made the comment Saturday at a national conference on political and legal work.

He said this was important for the implementation of the country's 10th five-year plan, set for social and economic development in the year 2001 to 2005.

He noted that public security and judicial departments will meet new problems with China's entry into the World Trade Organization, and that local officials should be responsible for major accidents and criminal cases in their respective areas.
