Large Quantity of Narcotics and Arms Seized in Pakistan

A vigilance party of the Excise Department of Sukkur in Pakistan's Sindh Province on Saturday confiscated a huge quantity of narcotics, arms and ammunition from a truck, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

Sukkur Excise and Taxation Director Nek Muhammad Qazi was quoted as saying 250 kilograms of hashish and 49 kilograms of opium were recovered from the truck.

Also found in the truck were 20 TT pistols, one KK rifle and ammunition when it was intercepted on the national highway near Khairpur by the vigilance party.

It was also reported that the Frontier Corps of Balochistan Province foiled an attempt to smuggle drug into Pakistan and seized 32 kilograms of hashish, 58 kilograms of raw hashish and two kilograms of heroin in Chagai district close to the Pak-Afghan border on Saturday.

The troops from Chagai Militia, working on a tip-off, raided the place and recovered the drugs hidden in shrubs.
