Sabotage Cannot Be Ruled Out in Train AccidentIndian Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee had said that sabotage couldn't be ruled out in the train accident which occurred in northwest India's Punjab state early Saturday morning, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported."There may be sabotage behind the accident. We will see to it," said Banerjee in her home state of West Bengal in northeast India. She said she was in constant touch with railway authorities carrying out rescue operations at the site, the PTI reported. All the deceased and injured persons would be compensated, she added. According to a PTI report, the collision occurred between an Amritsar-bound passenger train and a derailed goods train. But the cause of the derailment of the goods train was still under investigation. |
