Pakistan Will Observe Maximum Restraint Along LoC

Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Inam-ul-Haque said Saturday that the Pakistan armed forces deployed along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir will observe maximum restraint in order to strengthen and stabilize the cease-fire.

While addressing a press conference, he said Pakistan expects that the government of India will reciprocate this initiative and cease firing across the Line of Control.

He said that India's announced suspension of military operations will be meaningful only if it is combined with a purposeful dialogue for peaceful settlement of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said Pakistan is prepared to enter into a meaningful dialogue with India to address the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, correctly described by the UN Security Council as a root cause of tension between the two countries.
