Shanghai International Arts Festival Closes

The month-long second Shanghai International Festival of Arts ended Friday night and a closing ceremony was held in the Shanghai Great Theater.

Art troupes from over 20 countries and regions in the world and 10 provinces in China presented 54 performances over the past month.

During the festival, the organizing committee arranged seven exhibitions, including the China State-Level Art Crafts Exhibition and Shanghai Art Exposition.

More than 500,000 residents in Shanghai took part in various cultural activities, and over 300,000 people watched performances during the festival.

Ministers of culture from seven countries including the United States, Austria, Argentina and Vietnam and 1,600 artists and cultural officials from 39 countries and regions attended the festival.
