BOC HK Top Manager Arrested on Bribery Sting

Li Defan, a 48-year-old assistant general manager of BOC HK Branch, was arrested on seven charges, being suspected of accepting a big bribe of HK$3.69 million from a businessman to whom he granted a loan of US$40 million on October 1997. According to Hong Kong ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption), the businessman has also been put into custody and against the two a law suit has been filed.
