Second Globalization Forum to Be Held in Sanya, ChinaPeople's Daily and Hong Kong Foundation for Global Co-operation will host the Second Globalization Forum in Sanya, Hainan Province on January 12-14, 2001.Titled "21st Century¡ªKnowledge, Creativity and Development", the Forum aims at initiating an all-win economic globalization of equality, reciprocity and co-existence. It will focus on issues of the new world economic order, the interests of the developing countries and the role of information technology within the context of economic globalization, and discuss the correlation between China's economic development and its accession to WTO. Following the success of the First Globalization Forum held in Beijing last May, this Forum is another grand international gathering hosted by People's Daily and the Foundation. Celebrities in the international political scene such as Mr. Netin Desai, Undersecretary of United Nations, CEOs of multi-national corporations and world-renowned scholars will attend the Forum to deliver keynote speeches or take part in discussions. |
