China Plans to Recruit More Foreign Experts

China plans to recruit more foreign personnel in the next two years, as the nation starts its western development and is expected to enter the World Trade Organization in the near future.

Wan Xueyuan, head of the State Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, said China will be even more active in attracting foreign personnel and building an international personnel market for this effort.

At a three-day national meeting on introducing foreign experts November 29, Wan said that foreign personnel have contributed significantly to the advancement of agricultural sciences and the re-adjustment of industries, as well as other areas.

Foreign experts have helped China in various fields, such as in legal fields, the media, culture, the arts, sanitation, and sport, he noted.

The meeting is held every two years.
