Small Plane Crash Kills 4 in Illinois, US

A small plane crashed in an eastern Illinois cornfield on Monday, killing a Wisconsin couple, their son and his fiancee.

The victims were returning from a visit to Florida and had planned a refueling stop at Vermilion County Airport, five miles south of the crash site along Illinois Route 119.

They were identified as pilot Dennis M. Kriewaldt, 50, wife Jeanette, 47, their son, Adam, 26, and his fiancee, Jacqueline Theder, 25. All were from Watertown, Wisconsin.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
