Rolls-Royce Signs New Training Agreement with CAAC

The seventh training protocol between Rolls-Royce and the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) was signed in Beijing Tuesday, November 28, as the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the training programs was celebrated.

John Rivers, Rolls-Royce Human Resource Director, said described the agreement as the latest phase of a series of successful collaborative training initiatives for the beginning of 2001. It marks Rolls-Royce's continued support for the CAAC's development of future senior executives of airlines, airports and aviation regulatory authorities throughout China, he said.

Rivers added that each training protocol has been targeted at providing specific training and development to support the Chinese aviation industry. After the initial period of training in China, the trainees would travel to the United Kingdom for a further six-week training, covering business management skills, international management skills and airline business operations.

Rolls-Royce has been involved in such training in China since 1963. In 1990, Rolls-Royce and CAAC began working together on joint training programs.
