Sono Welcomes Fujimori to Stay at Her House

Japanese novelist Ayako Sono tells the press Nov. 27 that she offered deposed Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori to stay at her house in Tokyo's Ota Ward as a gesture of goodwill. Sono said she knows Fujimori in her capacity as head of the Nippon Foundation, which has funded development projects in Peru. Fujimori stopped over in Tokyo on Nov. 17 after attending a summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Brunei. He was originally scheduled to stay in Japan for one night.
