South Korean President Visits Indonesia

South Korean President Kim Dae-Jung arrived in Jakarta Monday afternoon for a three-day state visit to discuss improvement of bilateral relations with his Indonesian counterpart Abdurrahman Wahid.

On arrival at Jakarta's Halim Perdanakusumah airport, the South Korean president was greeted by President Wahid. He was then taken to the presidential palace for a courtesy call on his Indonesian host.

Kim was accompanied by Foreign Affair and Trade Minister Lee Joung-Binn.

The two leaders are scheduled to hold talks Tuesday morning and later witness the signing of an extradition treaty by the foreign ministers of the two countries.

Kim is also scheduled to meet with Indonesian businessmen and the Korean community later Tuesday.

He will end his visit on Wednesday, November 29.
