The Extradition Treaty has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Sri lanka and the Senate of the United States, a press release by Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry said. It also said that during their meeting on Monday morning Kadirgamar and Inderfurth reviewed bilateral relationship between the two countries and expressed their satisfaction at the positive development in this relationship during President Clinton's administration. Inderfurth has made it clear that he is here not to discuss Norwegian peace initiative late last month to bring the government and separatist Tamil Tiger rebels to the negotiation table for a peaceful solution to the country's 17-year old ethnic war.
