Archery Making Its Debut on Chinese College Campuses.
The Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics officially listed archery as an optional sports course on November 25. National team coach Tian Yuling was invited to coach the students.
The Beijing Star of Nimble Leopard Recreation Centre Co Ltd and the university were the instigators of the programme. The company has donated the archery equipment to the university.
Officials have said that the domination of South Korea in the sport is, in some part, due to the popularization of archery in universities and colleges.
Wang Zhenfu, council member of the International Archery Federation said the inclusion of archery in collegiate classes will definitely help the development of the sport in China.
