China-ASEAN Agricultural Cooperation Has Great Potential: Chinese PremierChinese Premier Zhu Rongji said November 25 in Singapore that China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) should deepen their agricultural cooperation.Zhu made the remarks at the summit between China and the ten ASEAN countries -- Brunei, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore. "China is a big agricultural country and ASEAN countries attach importance to agricultural development," he said. "As such, there is obviously mutual complementarity and a great potential for cooperation in agriculture between the two sides," the Chinese premier said. He said that in recent years, China has conducted agricultural cooperation in various forms with most ASEAN countries, which has yielded gratifying results. "We hope to see our respective agricultural sectors develop and an agricultural cooperation network for China and ten ASEAN countries gradually take shape through enhanced agricultural cooperation," he said.
