Chinese Air Cargo Firm Wins Operation Permit
China Cargo Airlines Ltd. was issued a certificate for standard operations November 26, becoming the first Chinese air company with such qualifications in the country's air cargo transport service.
Jointly funded by China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. and China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, the Shanghai-based company operates three MD-11 cargo planes and cargo transport service on all passenger planes run by China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. It also leases a Boeing-747 cargo plane and acts as agent for ground service in Shanghai for Chinese and overseas air companies.
The certificate will allow China Cargo Airlines Ltd. to compete with more air cargo companies from other countries, said a corporate executive.
