North China Province to Develop Information Industry
Hebei Province in north China will strive to develop software, integrated circuits and information industries in the upcoming century.
Niu Maosheng, governor of the province, said recently that information technology will be used to upgrade and improve local agriculture, industy and service trade.
Niu said the focus will be put on breakthroughs in the research of digital mobile telecommunications, display parts, electric and electronic parts. The province will also work hard on developing application software for education, management, entertainment and office automation.
The province has been playing an important role in the country in the machine-building and metallurgical industries. The introduction of information technology is expected to accelerate the development of the two industries.
