China's Top Procuratorate Issues Anti-Corruption Measures

China's Supreme People's Procuratorate has imposed a series of restrictions on the spouses and children of high-ranking officials, who engage in business, as part of its efforts to fight against corruption.

According to its newly issued regulations, the spouses and children of procuratorial officials whose posts are equal to or higher than a government department head at the provincial level are banned to operate law offices in the areas under the officials' jurisdiction.

They are prohibited to open commercial recreational businesses like dance halls and night clubs in the above-mentioned areas.

They are also not allowed to do other business related to the procuratorates where their spouses or parents work.

Officials who break the regulations will be punished.
