China Internet Information Center Set Up

The China Internet Information Center was officially set up in Beijing Friday, November 24.

The center was established by the China Foreign Languages Publishing and Distribution Administration (CFLPDA). Its news website, www.china.org.cn, has become a major channel for foreigners to learn about China.

Yang Zhengquan, director of the CFLPDA, said that the center will bring positive factors, such as a capable reporting and translating contingent, into play and make the website the best-known news website in the country.

Set up in 1997, the www.china.org.cn site features editions in eight languages and has links to all the websites of China's foreign embassies.
