Jiangmen Customs Solves Two Cigarette Smuggling Cases

Customs officials in Jiangmen City, south China's Guangdong Province, have cracked two cases involving smuggling cigarettes worth RMB$1.15 million. (US$138,000).

On November 15, customs officials ferreted out in a truck 182 cartons of foreign cigarettes valued at RMB$300,000. (US$36,100).

On November 17, customs officials confiscated RMB$850,000 (US$102,000) worth of "555" and other brands of foreign cigarettes. They also caught four smuggling suspects.

Jiangmen Customs has cracked 18 cigarette smuggling cases so far this year, confiscating 3,000 cartons of cigarettes valued at five RMB$million (US$602,000).

Chinese Customs Officers Seizes Smuggled Cigarettes

Customs officers of Jiangmen, south China's Guangdong Province, seized two loads of smuggled cigarettes valued at RMB$1.15 million (US$138,554) recently.

On November 15 and 17, two trucks were found carrying 182 cases and 295 cases of cigarettes, respectively, which were imported without legal certificates.
