China Lifts Restriction on Import of French Wine
The State Exit-Entry Inspection and Quarantine Bureau recently announced that it will restore the normal procedure of inspection of wine imported from France, and that no certificate proving the original producing area and certificate proving wine produced not with cleanser for bull blood as raw material is required to be provided.
It's reported that on July 21 last year, the State Exit-Entry Inspection and Quarantine Bureau published an announcement on part of the wines produced in Vaucluse, Ardeche, Drome and Gard of France, which use the currently prohibited cleansing agent for bull blood as raw material, the bureau stipulates that official certificates issued by relevant French departments are required for the import of French wines, so as to prevent the inflow of substandard food into the Chinese market and thus guarantee the health of the Chinese people.
Since the release of the announcement, the France government has adopted active and effective measures to ban all the wine involved in this case and has strengthened supervision over the usage of wine cleanser.
