The draft resolution, jointly sponsored by China, Russia, Belarus and Kyrghyzstan, was approved by 88 votes in favor and 5 against, Sun noted. Compared with the situation last year, more countries supported the resolution this year, according to Sun. "This fully demonstrates the will and determination of the international community to maintain the global strategic balance and stability," said Sun. "It also shows that the international community does not agree with the development and deployment of the national missile defense system by certain countries," he said. China, as one of the proposers of the draft resolution, is grateful to those countries who voted in favor of the document, Sun noted.
