27 People Injured in Traffic Accident in Guiyang

Twenty-seven people were injured November 22 as a long-distance bus ran head-on with a truck in the suburbs of this capital of Southwest China's Guizhou Province.

Five passengers were seriously injured, and two are in critical condition and are still under intensive care in a hospital.

The bus was heading from Chongqing municipality to Shenzhen, a special economic zone in south China's Guangdong Province. The bus then rolled off to a paddy field three meters below the road.

All other injured passengers have been treated in a nearby hospital.

According to police, the truck driver ran away after the accident.
