Arafat to Arrive in Moscow for Talks with Putin
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is to arrive in Moscow on Friday (November 24) to discuss the situation in the Middle East with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Palestinian Embassy here said Thursday.
Arafat and Putin will hold talks on "the latest dangerous developments in the Middle East and the escalation of the Israeli army's military operations against the people of Palestine," a Palestinian Embassy spokesman told reporters.
"President Vladimir Putin and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat will meet in the Kremlin on Friday," Putin's spokesman Alexei Gromov confirmed on the same day.
The meeting has been organized at the request of the Palestinian side, he said.
