Hong Kong to Stage Half-Marathon Race

Hong Kong is set to hold the eighth Hong Kong half-Marathon championships on January 7th, 2001, the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA) announced November 23.

William Ko, chairman of HKAAA, said that this was the third year of the event to be sanctioned by the Association of International Marathons and Road Race (AIMS). Details of the event were well published in the AIMS's magazine and listed in its calendar.

"We would expect to have a good record of overseas runners in the year 2001," added Ko.

The distance of the flat route is the same as the previous years with the total distance of 21.0975 km, which is measured by the IAAF qualified measurer.
