Yugoslavia, Bosnia to Establish Diplomatic Relations
The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina will establish diplomatic relations in two weeks, the Yugoslav Tanjug news agency reported on Wednesday.
According to Tanjug, the news was declared after Bosnian Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic met with his Yugoslav counterpart, Goran Svilanovic, in Sarajevo.
Prlic said the territorial integrity of both states should be respected and that both states should promote relations on the basis of mutual respect.
Svilanovic said cooperation will not infringe upon Bosnia- Herzegovina's sovereignty, according to Tanjug.
The ministers also discussed the tri-lateral agreement between Bosnia-Herzegovina, Yugoslavia and Croatia on repatriating refugees.
In October 1996, Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic and Bosnian President of the Presidium Alija Izetbegovic signed an accord in France on establishing formal diplomatic relations.
Diplomatic Ties with Slovenia
The Yugoslav government decided November 20 to establish diplomatic relations with Slovenia, said the Federal Secretariat of Information.
After Macedonia and Croatia, Slovenia is the third former Yugoslav republic with which Belgrade is establishing diplomatic relations. Belgrade is expected to establish formal ties with another former Yugoslav republic, Bosnia-Herzegovina, soon.
